Seth Thomas & Sons, statue clock, No. 8000, ca 1876. One of the largest statue clocks at 27 inches high, 20 inches wide. All Seth Thomas & Sons clocks seem to have lost their original finish. The old finish was completely removed and redone properly.Round French movement, outside count wheel and bell. The earlier Seth Thomas & Sons clocks used French movements. 8 day movement has been serviced and is running. Strikes half hours on the bell. Porcelain dial has a hairline, beveled glass with chips. If you should want it replaced I will give you the name of the man that makes replacement beveled glasses. Ly-American, Volume 2, No.844.
