Seth Thomas "Office Calendar No. 7", C. 1878. Rosewood veneer case is 26.5" high, with decorative attached buttons, top, bottom, and middle. The case is very similar to their No. 4 and No. 6 models. This case is almost perfect, no bad veneer, no repairs, all original. Key lock on the side. Two labels inside the case, the one on the door says the clock and calendar were set to running November 1, 1878. Original dials have not been repainted and have very little paint loss; however, years ago someone put a coat of varnish or wax on the dials. It has held the paint very good, but it also darkened them somewhat and gives the impression there are brush marks. They aren't bad, and since the case is so nice I would sure live with the dials. 8 day, spring, striking hours on a large brass bell. Perpetual calendar is functioning and clock is running.
