Seth Thomas "Parlor Calendar No. 5", ca 1886. There is an awfully lot of stuff in this very small 20 inches high walnut case. Notice how close the dials are to the top and base. Behind those dials are oodles of working mechanisms. Large signed 8 day movement strikes a brass bell on each hour. Good label of instructions inside behind the lower movement. Calendar mechanism is changing properly and the clock is keeping accurate time. The case has the original finish and appears to have led a sheltered existence. Clean underneath, inside and out-side. The glasses are both original. A very small nail hole and a chip on the top back edge of the case. Not even noticeable. Once in a great while we find Seth Thomas dials that have not been repainted, such is the case here. Only the pendulum bob is not original. Ly-Seth Thomas #94.
