Seth Thomas "Regulator No. 18", C. 1909. 8 day weight driven timepiece, and seconds pendulum bob. This is a nice example of the No. 18 in a 54" mahogany veneer case. There are the usual bumps and bruises on the bezel and some case edges but no glaring places showing veneer damage, etc. The extra things are all original, like the brass damascened pendulum bob, wood stick, beat scale, remnants of an old black label inside, hands, and the old 14" dial that still has the original paint and is very good. Some small chips around the screw heads. No extra holes anywhere. The movement has polished plates and is secured to an iron bracket, Graham dead beat escapement, maintaining power. This is a good straight original No. 18 wall clock. Selling at eastern auctions and clock shows $4500 and more, and not nearly as nice as this one. Ly-Seth Thomas, page 127.
