Catalog Description:
Seth Thomas "Regulator No. 2", ca 1875. This is the early or old style No. 2. This 34 inch walnut veneered clock has been restored, dial was repainted some time ago as there is now some slight flaking of the black paint. This glass is pictured in the catalogs on the Regulator No.1 models, which means it may not be original to this clock, but there is a slight chance it could be. It has one of the finest sliding partitions with a full label and paper beat scale that we have seen. As you know the label is glued to the sliding partition and will usually be pretty ragged or missing after 125 years of wear and tear. 8 day, time only, weight movement. The weight comes down behind the sliding partition. We see quite a few of the early No.2 models, but don't see very many this nice. Ly-Seth Thomas, page 110.
