Seth Thomas hanging clock, "Regulator No. 2", C. 1913. Cherry case 36.5" high. According to available records ST did not made cherry cases after 1913, and the cases were 36.5" after 1913, 34" before 1913. Some may call it refinished, I call it cleaned. It was a clock my wife used in the kitchen for a long time, until we played musical clocks recently. I kept it adjusted to within a minute a month. The 8 day movement is clean, running, signed. I can't see any tracks of a recent dial painter, but the dial is too nice not to have been repainted. It hasn't been off the case many times because the original tiny screws are still in the same tiny holes, very unusual. All the brass is original, weight, bob, beat scale, and hardware. After all the glowing remarks I must say the back of the case looks like it was drug down the street behind a tow truck. I guess that doesn't hurt it but thankfully we don't have to look at the back.
