About the Seth Thomas “Belmont No. 2” Clock
The Seth Thomas “Belmont No. 2” Mantle Clock, a fine example of American craftsmanship, is distinguished by its red adamantine finish and traditional time and strike mechanism with a gong strike. This particular model, often referred to as the Adamantine Clock, features an eight-day T&S movement that drives both hour and half-hour strikes on a marked porcelain dial. The clock resides within a mahogany adamantine case, complete with its original key and pendulum.
Though not currently operational, the clock’s striking function is confirmed to be in working order. Two minor chips are present on the top of the case, adding character to this antique timepiece. Measuring 14 3/4 inches tall, the Seth Thomas “Belmont No. 2” Mantle Clock is an attractive addition to any collection focused on American clockmaking history.
