About the Seth Thomas “Dorothy art noveau figural” Clock

The Seth Thomas “Dorothy” Art Nouveau Figural Clock, produced around 1905, is an exquisite example of American clockmaking craftsmanship from the early 20th century. This antique timepiece boasts a striking 16-inch cast metal case finished in a distinctive Bronze Art Nouveau style, as detailed on page 600 of Ly’s Seth Thomas Clocks & Movements.

The clock’s ornate design is further accentuated by a 3.5-inch porcelain dial adorned with pink flowers and green leaves, complemented by correctly functioning hands. The signed movement of the Dorothy clock runs for an impressive 15 days, striking the hours and half-hours on a cathedral gong.

Notably, this particular model was originally part of a set that included two matching bronzed vases, adding to its unique charm and collectibility. While recent sales data is not readily available, the running and striking condition of this Seth Thomas Dorothy clock makes it an attractive addition for any antique clock enthusiast or collector.
