About the Seth Thomas “Roselle art noveau” Clock

The Seth Thomas “Roselle Art Nouveau” clock, produced around 1906, is an exquisite example of American craftsmanship during the early 20th century. This antique timepiece showcases a distinctive 15-inch cast metal case, finished in a rich bronze hue, as depicted on various auction listings.

The clock’s 4-inch porcelain dial boasts decorative elements and features correct hands, while the signed movement allows for an impressive 15-day operation. The unique feature of this Seth Thomas creation is its cathedral gong striking mechanism, which chimes on the hour and half-hour.

Notably, the Roselle Art Nouveau clock was originally part of a set with another matching clock, similar to the Dorothy model (#109). Remarkably, it is currently in working condition, running and striking as intended. Despite limited sales records available, these uncommon clocks are valued for their historical significance and artistic design by collectors of antique Seth Thomas pieces.
