About the Seth Thomas “small column” Clock
Introducing the Antique Seth Thomas “Small Column” Clock, a classic American timepiece dating back to approximately 1870. This compact clock stands at 16 inches tall and features an impressive 8-day time-and-strike lyre movement, a hallmark of the renowned Seth Thomas brand.
The clocks showcase rosewood veneer, albeit with some missing segments in certain examples. The gesso columns have undergone an old repaint, as has the metal dial, which sports the ST logo. Some pieces come with original hands, while others have been replaced with newer ones bearing the ‘ST’ mark.
The glass and mirror components vary across different examples, with some featuring old replacements or unusual designs such as a porthole. Each clock comes equipped with a good label inside, signifying authenticity. It is essential to note that these clocks are running and striking as expected, with the exception of one example where the movement runs tentatively.
Upon purchase, customers have a 30-day return policy, allowing for returns if the clock does not meet expectations or if there are undisclosed issues not evident from the provided images. The original packaging should be saved for this purpose. This level of customer service sets us apart from other auction companies.
