Catalog Description: C.1886, Seth Thomas Clock Co., “Albany”, walnut parlor clock. This is one of the city series offered by Seth Thomas, and is in very good original condition (orig finish with a few weak spots, but still quite good). The original painted dial has crazing from age and a couple of minor chips, but is very nice for a Seth Thomas dial. The tablet, hands and pendulum are original. (Nickeled pendulum with embossed brass button “ST” in center). A good original label in the bottom of the case; overall a nice example of the Albany. Height 20″ $250-$350

Catalog Description: Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Adele”, ca 1904. An adamantine case clock with a bright red mahogany finish. Adamantine onyx columns, metal capitals and bases. Gilt metal feet and ornaments. Seth installed the “Automatic Eight Day Loud Alarm” movement in this case. Note the alarm dial above the hand arbor, and the extra winding hole way down on the base of the case to wind the alarm mechanism. I see some very small adamantine chips or bruises that I could have covered with a mahogany stain. Its no big deal, but there, nonetheless. 8 day movement strikes half hours on a brass bell, hours on a cathedral gong, and rings like crazy on an iron bell down in the base of the clock beside the alarm mechanism. Overall a very nice, clean, clock. Ly-Seth Thomas No. 1212.

Condition: This is a clean clock, the movement recently overhauled and in good running order. The adamantine case is quite good with no noticeable chips. Also with good bottom label showing 1880 patent date, and production date (1893) clearly visible [read in reverse]. We still see these with retail prices around $300. Height 10 inches
