About the Seth Thomas “Beulah” Clock

The Seth Thomas “Beulah” clock, produced around 1909 and 1905, is an intriguing piece from the esteemed Seth Thomas Clock Company. This mantel clock, finished in white adamantine, showcases a distinctive cello veneer case that, despite some minor nicks and scrapes, remains in very good original condition. The clock stands at approximately 10 feet tall and retains its original dial, hands, pendulum, and case hardware.

Another example of the “Beulah” model, produced slightly earlier around 1905, features an 8-day time/strike mechanism. This version exhibits a clean white adamantine finished case with minor imperfections such as a tiny chip on the right corner of the base and a small raised area on the back edge of the base. The original dial has some staining at 9+3 from oil, while the applied ornaments still display much of their original gold plating.

Though these white clocks were not particularly popular sellers a century ago, they are nonetheless an interesting find for collectors. Both versions have undergone recent movement cleanings to ensure optimal functionality. Standing at approximately 10.5 inches [26.67 cm] tall, the Seth Thomas “Beulah” clock is a unique addition to any collection.
