About the Seth Thomas “Calendar No. 3” Clock

Title: Seth Thomas Calendar No. 3 Clock Model Overview

The Seth Thomas Calendar No. 3 is a mantel clock model, renowned for its intricate design and practical functionality. Produced between the late 19th to early 20th century, this timepiece falls within the era of Seth Thomas’s most prolific production periods.

The typical case materials used for the Calendar No. 3 are walnut or mahogany, with brass accents on the dial and movements. The design features a rectangular case, adorned with intricate wood carvings that exhibit exceptional craftsmanship and elegance.

What sets the Seth Thomas Calendar No. 3 apart as a collectible piece is its unique combination of a calendar feature with a striking eight-day movement, making it both a practical household item and an attractive addition to any antique clock collection. Notable features include the dial displaying the date in Arabic numerals alongside the hours and minutes, as well as the distinctive bell chime that strikes every hour on the hour.

Collectors prize this model for its rarity compared to other Seth Thomas clocks, making it an exciting find for those seeking an unusual and historically significant piece. As with all antiques, condition plays a crucial role in determining its value, but collectors can expect to encounter higher prices for well-preserved examples of the Calendar No. 3 due to its limited availability and desirable design elements.
