Jul 2020 – 143 Antique American Clocks Seth Thomas “Chime Clock No. 7” ca. 1915. This Sonora chime strikes on four bells and, as you would expect, sounds great. Westminster chimes on the quarter hours and counts the hours on all four bells on the hour. The adamantine case is 13.25 inches tall and 11 inches wide, with no chips or scrapes. The silvered convex dial shows some wear and sits behind a convex beveled glass. The hands are correct, the signed movement is running and chiming as expected. You can silence the chimes with a slider bar on the right. This model sells on eBay for around $250.

Mahogany adamantine case has a small damaged area on the back edge of the top. Original silvered dial has a light general tarnish, but overall is not bad. Hands are original. Clean label on the backboard. Ht 13 1/2″

The 13″ high case is mahogany adamantine with columns and caps, brass feet and bezel, 5 inches silver dial is in good condition. 8 day movement No. 89 with chime movement No. 90, 4 hammers play Westminster chimes on 4 bells and also strikes the hours on 4 bells. Clock is running and striking properly. Ly-Seth Thomas No. 724.

The adamantine finished case is in excellent condition with one small area of loss at the top right return molding. The silvered dial is in very good condition with minor oxidation. The hands are original. The movement is stamped 89AF and the striking mechanism is stamped 90D.

the two movements have been cleaned and the clock runs and chimes OK. On the minus side, the front columns have been replaced with reeded wood ones, stained to “almost” match, and the rear dust cover is also new. Pendulum and hands original. Silvered metal dial nice. Ht 14″
