About the Seth Thomas “Empire No. 307” Clock

The Seth Thomas “Empire No. 307” Crystal Regulator, manufactured around 1910, presents an exquisite addition to any collector’s repertoire. This brass and glass timepiece boasts a premium round no. 48-N movement that operates smoothly, with the exception of a minor issue where the bottom finial of the pendulum may not stay securely in place. The clock features an original Seth Thomas porcelain dial, complete with hands and pendulum, and stands at approximately 9 inches tall.

Another variant of this model, produced around 1913, showcases a brass and glass construction, also known as a “crystal regulator.” This version sports an 8-day time and gong strike mechanism within a gilded case adorned with a porcelain dial. The clock has been refurbished with new bushings, ensuring it runs in good order. Notably, the original gilding on the case remains in excellent condition, although care should be taken to avoid polishing off the gold finish. A minor imperfection is a small chip glued in on the rear door glass at the bottom. This “Empire No. 307” stands at approximately 9.75 inches tall.
