C.1905, Seth Thomas Clock Co., 14 Inch Lobby”, in
generally good condition, running but needing some case restoration. The 30-day movement is housed in an attractive mahogany case that has been professionally refinished. This is an earlier “Lobby” model that had a decorative splat extending across the bottom at a 45Ü angle (now missing); may be restored with a splat or by adding decorative trim and spindles as illustrated in Ly’s Seth Thomas book (1996, fig 382). The original dial pan has been professionally repainted and the hands are original; pendulum is incorrect but adequate. Worth $1000 if original. Height 28 inches

15-day wall timepiece in very good original condition. This clock has been in storage, and the original finish has deteriorated to the point where there are some bare wood areas The painted dial is in excellent condition with original ST logo intact. The hands, pendulum, beat scale, dial glass and all case hardware are original. With original Seth Thomas double spring time movement. Ly updated the price on this in year 2000 to 1250 dollars, which is probably a little low in today’s market. Height 30.5 inches

the case retains its old original finish with a nice glossy patina. The brass beat scale and pendulum bob have old lacquered surfaces; the round glass is wavy. The painted metal dial also is original with only tiny losses at the winding holes and outer screws. The large No. 50 movement, with winding stops, has had recent professional service. Ht 30 1/2Ò

C.1890, Seth Thomas LOBBY – 14 INCH, finished in old oak, 15-Day double spring time.
Condition: Overall very good to excellent; the only thing that keeps this from being outstanding is some lifting of the veneer along the bottom edge of the door (none is missing). Original dial with ST logo is excellent, and original finish on the case is nicely crazed with wonderful patina. For reference on this model, see Tran Duy Ly’s book titled Seth Thomas Clocks and Movements, third edition, Volume 1, page 342. Height 30.5 inches

Condition: the case is excellent, having been attractively refinished. The dial is original and in excellent condition with the exception of a small U-shaped scratch near the top right side. The movement has been professionally cleaned and when would fully, will run a month (a testimony to Seth Thomas workmanship). The pendulum bob and stick are original. Ht: 30inches

Condition: Walnut case in very nice condition with original finish. There is a little damage to the top corner of the bottom door. The painted dial has wear to the numbers and a little staining; it is difficult to tell whether it is original or an old repaint. Hands are original. This is the earlier version with the slanted lower door, 2Ó shorter than later version, see also lot 419. Height 28 inches
