Usually these dials are painted, however this one is paper over zinc [with some stain and wear]. “ST” hands are from a larger model and are a bit too long; tablet is original and nice.     Catalog Description: C.1875, Seth Thomas “Office Calendar No. 1” in generally good condition, with restoration. Both dials have been repainted; roller covers are original, and tho a bit dark, are quite legible. The single weight movement is complete and sound, and the calendar mechanism is advancing OK. Inside label is lifting and one corner is absent, but it is still fully legible. The rosewood veneer case is in good condition, with a number of chips that have been filled in with stain, and other loose bits. Note the small areas of loss are outside the bezels which are firm and intact with no loss. Overall it is above average for what usually turns up on this model, and very pleasant in appearance. When in excellent condition, these have been fetching 6000 dollars. Height 40 inches

    Catalog Description: C.1863, Seth Thomas Clock Co., “Office Calendar No. 3”, 8-day double dial calendar. This timepiece is usually referred to as the “Peanut”. The rosewood veneered case is nice condition with what looks like a newer layer of shellac over the old finish. There is small stress crack on the lower edge of the front door. The original painted upper dial is very nice with some minor paint loss around the mounting screws, winding arbors and a couple of small chips. The hands are original. The lower dial has darkened with age and has paint loss around the mounting screws and one small area on the edge. Someone has added a date of 195? and F.R.R. to the dial. There is some damage in this date area. The tail to the calendar hand was broken off and is missing. There has been a repair to the case in the area of the top door hinge. Has a good black/gold label inside door. Height 24 inches

    Catalog Description: C.1878 Seth Thomas Clock Co., “Office Calendar No. 7”, 8-day time/strike mahogany, double dial calendar clock. Condition: The mahogany case is in nice condition with original finish; some nicks and bumps commensurate with age. The time dial has been repainted, lower dial original, rollers were very nicely recovered some time ago and look fine. The time hands are original, calendar hand proper replacement. There is a very nice calendar date set label inside the front door [for August 1st, 1878], and an instruction label inside the case. See also next lot, 488. Height 26.25 inches

At first we thought the tablet was incorrect, however, the “Denver” model uses this tablet, and such items were often offered as options. The finish and gilding are all original; inside label is a bit chewed up by someone who wound the clock weekly and tossed the key back inside. Dial is original and pendulum correct.     Catalog Description: C.1865, Seth Thomas Clock Co., Plymouth Hollow, Conn., 8-day, 2-weight, Parlor Calendar in rosewood. There are veneer chips and some loss along the base and chips along the top of the case. The upper dial has been papered over while the lower is original with some paint loss at the 2 o’clock position. The door glasses are original with the center glass being especially nice; usually we see an eagle tablet in this model; this “globe” tablet with locomotive and sailing ship is exceptional. Instruction label for this double dial clock is bright and legible. Height 30 1/2″
