A 15-inch cast metal case in a bronze finish, shown on page 618 of Ly’s Seth Thomas Clocks & Movements As with Dorothy (#109), this originally came as a set with two matching bronzed vases. The 4-inch porcelain dial is decorated, the hands are correct. The signed movement runs 15 days, striking a cathedral gong on the hours and half-hours. It is running and striking. No sales records. These are uncommon clocks.

    Oak case in original finish was painted green on the sides and front molded edge and now has some scratches and some veneer damage on the bottom. Dial door has some veneer missing. Original hands. Seconds hand is missing. Painted dial looks original as the mounting holes in the dial match those in the case, but there are some extra unexplained holes just below 6 and just above 12 o’clock. The dial has some minor loss at the mounting screws, in the center and at the winding arbor. Wood pendulum rod is a replacement. Original label inside the case.

    overall in excellent original condition. There is some wear to the original painted dials from setting the hands. We have given you some extra detail photos on our website so you can see that the driveshaft and beveled gears are original and intact. Porcelain plaques stating City Time and Rail Road Time are perfect except for a hairline in the RR Time [no chips]. The original hanging bracket is now held in place with old machine screws (a common and good change for a heavy clock). The walnut case has a pleasant dark red hue. Finials are all original. Counter weighted hands original. Original wavy glass in door. These are rare items and it is nice to find one of documented provenance. Ht 49″
