Condition: This is the earlier model with metal trim above the capitals and below the dial. This clock is out of a home in Sunapee, a one owner and is 100% ORIGINAL, as good as it gets-. Catalog Description: C.1900, Seth Thomas Clock Co., “Cordova” 8-day time and strike oak mantel clock in very good original condition. There is some wear to the finish along the edges of the case, and some dirt on the top but overall it is in great shape with nice patina; note it may have been brushed over with some reddish shellac long ago, as it does have a mahogany look to it. The porcelain dial and beveled glass are perfect. The movement is properly signed, and was recently overhauled, and is in good running order. Note this is a skeletonized version of their round movement that we have not seen before (both front and rear plates are cut out). The hands are original. This clock is ready to take home and enjoy. Catalog Description: C.1913, Seth Thomas Clock Co., Thomaston, Conn ., “Continental”, 8-day time/strike Pillar and Scroll shelf clock [spring movement]. Condition: Mahogany case in very good condition with original finish, very minor nicks and scrapes. Original painted dial is inscribed with retailer: “S. A. MacQueen and Co., Philadelphia”, and is in very nice condition with some soiled areas around the winding arbors. Hands and brass finials are original. Original eagle tablet has some lifting along with some minor loss around the white border. Overall very good+ original condition, with clean label inside case. Ht 32″ [81.2 cm]

Catalog Description: Seth Thomas mantle clock, a miniature pillar and scroll case called the “Concord”, C. 1928. Big 8 day Seth Thomas movement with Geneva stops, strikes a cathedral gong on half hours and hours. Very nice painted dial with flowers in the corners. The mahogany case is 17″ high, repairs to one scroll ear, full turned columns and finials. Tablet is original but flaking. It is identical to those pictured in Ly-Seth Thomas, page 335. In good condition these are bring $500.

Catalog Description: Seth Thomas Clock Co. City Series clock, the “Concord”, ca 1886. Another of the early models when Seth was making very nice parlor clocks, not kitchen clocks, like everyone began making in the late 1800’s. This walnut case is 22 1/2 inches, with a lot of unusual carvings, top to bottom. Note the acorns on the lower finials. Original finish, case is complete. It sat too close to a lantern or fireplace at some time, 2 of the 4 finials are slightly scorched, bottom left the worse. Some sanding and staining should put it right again. 8 day, striking a cathedral bell, running strong. Nickel accessories, bob, gong base, dial ring. Original black label on the base. This model is very poplar with the City Series collectors. Ly-Seth Thomas No.175.

Has the top of the line nickel pendulum, dial ring, gong base, door lock, etc. 8 day, strike and alarm, and running. Alarms on a nickel bell and strikes a cathedral gong. Catalog Description: Seth Thomas “Concord”, ca 1886, one of Seth Thomas’s famous City Series clocks. I collected City Series for many years and probably had 8-10 of this model, but never had one this nice. Other than one small sliver off the left bottom of the base, it is near perfect. Even the dial is clean, black label in the base, and a great nickel pendulum. 8 day strike and alarm, strikes on a cathedral bell. The alarm system is intact. 22 1/2 inch walnut case is stamped on the back, “1885”. The outstanding feature of the clock is the glass with the fish. If I were going to start another City Series collection I would start with this one. Ly-Seth Thomas No.175.

Catalog Description: C.1886, Seth Thomas Clock Co., “CONCORD”, from the City series, 8-day time and strike in an elaborate walnut case. Condition: Very good original condition. Retains untouched finish, good label (with wear from throwing the key into the case), xlnt original 6″ dial and gilt glass decal, also nickel plated damascene pendulum. There are some streaks of the original finish that have come off. Facing the clock, the right font foot has some old damage, however the foot can be rotated and it will never show. Button latch for door intact. For reference on this model, see Tran Ly’s book on Seth Thomas, 3rd Edition, Vol 1, page 191. Ly 2005 price = $650. Ht 22.5″ [57cm]
