Condition: Refinished oak and oak veneered case in good condition with some repair to the oak veneer on the bottom bracket and a little damage on the left side of the bottom bracket. Original painted dial with a very small area of paint loss. Hands, pendulum and weight are original. Very good, but dark label in bottom of case. Movement is clean and ticking. Height 34 inches

    Catalog Description: C.1879, Seth Thomas Clock Co., “Regulator No. 2″, 8-day rosewood wall timepiece. Veneer wise the case is in very good condition. There is minor veneer damage on the hinge side of the bezel and some veneer loss on the bottom bracket (not easily seen). The original tablet has some loss to the gold leaf design in the center, but is overall very good. The clock has an extra nice touch in that the area the where the dial mounts has been artificially grained (original). The lower key lock door retains original gold leafed border in excellent order The original dial has some paint flaking, and bears the name of jeweler from West Virginia (R. H. Nefflen) . The seconds hand is included, but we could not put it on, as the suspension spring has been lengthened just enough that the cross bar interferes with the second hand (this is repairable). Despite some minor items that need attention, this clock is in very good original condition. Height 34” $2,000-$2,500

The walnut veneer case has the following repairs: both lower sides of the case have been patched and some veneer is missing; the bezel has some veneer chips and some splits. The original tablet has lost most of its gold leaf decoration and needs total restoration. The dial has some paint flaking; 95% of the dealer name, H. J. Mayhew, Colborne, is intact. The case has an outstanding Seth Thomas label. Original weight, movement and pendulum bob intact. Height 34” $800-$1,200

Condition: Refinished mahogany case in good condition with veneer loss and repairs to the dial door. The tablet is original with loss at the top and restoration to the black background. Some evidence of artificial graining remains on the dial surround. The original painted dial has some flaking and loss at the mounting screws. Hands are original. The pendulum bob is a modern replacement. The inside label is Super on this clock. Estimate reflects need for old bob and minor veneer repairs.. Height 34 inches

Something different for the collector who is used to No. 2s made near the turn of the century. Height 34″

    Catalog Description: C.1865, Seth Thomas, an Early “Regulator No. 2” in walnut, with side hung lead weight with baffle and uncommon tablet, 8-day. Condition: although there is a larger veneer chip in the outer bezel near 9, and a couple of small ones, the veneer is overall in very good condition. The original finish was removed from the clock some time ago, and there is just a light coat of shellac at this time. Great orig dial has one scrape under the super signature. Otherwise, this is an excellent original clock with good label, original mov’t, hands, weight, pendulum and hardware. Note weight is tapered to miss the pendulum, attaches direct to the cord, which passes over case pulley. Case retains original flocked backboard. This early model rarely becomes available. Height 37.5 inches [94cm]
