Catalog Description: C.1900. Seth Thomas, GALLERY, 18-INCH, in oak, with 15 Day double spring time only movement with Graham escapement. Condition: overall excellent, the case refinished some time ago and with nice caramel color. The original dial is in amazingly good condition, some numerals carefully strengthened. We took off the dial expecting to find it marked 86A (what it is) but instead it is marked simply 18 (for 18 inch dial). In any case it is the original 15 day movement; it will need cleaning; it has been recently oiled without cleaning and is running OK. We moved the dial support board to get a better foto of the movement. For details on this clock, see Tran Ly’s 3rd edition Seth Thomas book, page 340, figure 1090. Height 25 inches

Catalog Description: Seth Thomas Clock Co. marble front gallery clock, “No.2”, ca 1904. Large piece of marble is 27 1/2 inches by 1 inch thick. Marble mounted to a wood box that has 2 large hangers on the back, and a trap door in the base to access the pendulum. Pendulum movement is 15 day, large double spring No.86AE, signed by Seth Thomas. Mounted on a cast iron back plate. Graham dead beat escapement, running. The hands, pendulum, doors, back, all original. Dial numerals have been repainted or touched up. Rope around the outside and the designs painted on the marble, were no doubt added by later owners. Recent owners were told that “SFR” stands for “San Francisco Naval Reserve”. Perhaps you know what it all means, I don’t. Ly-Seth Thomas No.634.
