The case has been professionally refinished to a light walnut color and is very attractive. The dial has been nicely repainted. The long running double spring time movement is in running order. Hands and damascene pendulum are original. This is a large and attractive clock. Height 32 inches

The case has a very soft lustre finish and shows a very nice warm color of the walnut. The dial has significant flaking issues and needs to be stabilized or repainted. The hands are original. The movement is signed.

Condition: generally very good+ restored condition with original dial, counter-weighted hands, mov’t and pendulum. The oak case has been attractively refinished to a honey color. The original dial perhaps got moist at one time and there is the outline of the hour hand, in a shadow at about 9:30, and a couple of minor flakes. This model was offered from 1884 through 1924, and details may be found in Tran Ly’s book on Seth Thomas, 3rd Edition, Vol 1, pages 340-341. Current Ly price guide $4750, if perfect. the case retains its original finish, nicely rubbed down. There is a minor repair to outer step on front of case, refixing the molding. There is an age split in case back. The dial is in excellent condition and retains its original paint with a very subtle overcoat and the hands are original. The movement has recently been cleaned and has been keeping time on the consignor’s wall. This is an excellent example in original condition. The last example we sold in mahogany brought $4600 plus 10% Buyer’s Premium in our April 1, 2003 auction.

there are repair notations going back to 1909 inside the case. The overall condition of the case, movement, pendulum and hands all is excellent, down to the brass beat scale, with just a few small paint flakes off the dial. Overall diameter 29″

Professionally refinished oak case in very nice clean condition. On the top rounded edge of the case there is a couple of places with some light scratches. Original painted dial has as is typical of Seth Thomas paint loss. This could be restored or left as is. Hands are original. Movement and pendulum are original. Ht. 32″

Condition: Factory “old oak” finish is still intact, nicely waxed. Original Roman dial is excellent. Heavy double spring, time only movement runs at least 15 days. See image of movement and other details in Tran Ly’s book on Seth Thomas, 3rd Edition, Vol 1, pages 340-41. About as good as it gets for this model. Ht 32″ [81.3cm]
