About the Seth Thomas “No. 8064” Clock

Welcome to our collector’s reference page for the Seth Thomas “No. 8064” clock, manufactured by Seth Thomas Sons and Co., New York around 1872. This mantel clock features a gilt white metal ornate case and a 15-day time and bell strike mechanism.

The clock stands approximately 19.75 inches [50.16 cm] tall, with a beveled glass dial door in perfect condition. The original porcelain dial is slightly chipped around the winding arbors, while the hands and pendulum remain intact. For reference, consult Tran Ly’s 3rd edition Seth Thomas book on page 1063, figure 3297.

A later addition to this model includes a turned hardwood base, which provides an attractive complement to the original bronzed figural clock. Although the signed white enamel dial has chips around a winding hole and the thick beveled glass is chipped at the top, the round movement ticks and strikes effectively, although not tested long term.

This Seth Thomas “No. 8064” clock offers a unique blend of historical charm and ornate design, making it an intriguing addition to any collector’s mantel.
