While the dials have been refinished or repainted in some cases, the original hands, finish, rollers, and other clock components remain intact. Parlor calendars 8 through 11 are the most sought after of Seth Thomas shelf calendars, and this one would please any advanced collector. This model is illustrated in Ly’s yellow calendar book, pages 260-61, with a 1997 price of $3200. Height 27″

Condition: walnut case retains original finish in excellent condition (minor nicks and scrapes). The dials have been repainted. Nice label inside door, and “no oil” warning label in case back. Painted dials appear to have been repainted a long time ago and have aged to a nice appearance with some loss on the edges and at the mounting screws. Original calendar rollers have age darkened. The case and finish are mostly original; someone has wiped over the finish with alcohol to clean it, but the grain is not open.. The dials (8 inch) have been professionally repainted. except for the paper dials and rollers are replacements, this rare clock is in very good condition with some nicks and scrapes on the old finish. The 1885 date code is stamped on the back, and the original instruction label remains inside the front door. A calendar hand is needed. Ht 28″
