  • Antique Seth Thomas “Queen Anne” Model Clock

    Antique Seth Thomas

Catalog Description: C.1895, Seth Thomas Clock Co., Queen Anne, 8-day time/strike wall clock, case incomplete. The walnut case is in good condition with original finish, however, the clock must have fallen at one time and damaged the lower bracket, which is now missing, but the bottom trim molding was saved and placed back on the case. This clock was originally exported to England and the painted dial is signed “Barry and Sons, Cardiff”. The clock has a beautiful nickel-plated damascened pendulum. This example has an early wooden beat indicator. There is a very nice label in the bottom of the case. If this clock had retained its original bracket it would have been worth $1,000 and the estimate reflects the condition. Height 31.75″ $500-$700

  • Antique Seth Thomas “Regulator No. 18” Model Clock

    Antique Seth Thomas

Catalog Description: Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Regulator No.18”. A contemporary clock made as a copy of the ca1909 poplar model No.18. The 8 day time only, weight driven movement is old and correct for this clock. It is signed properly and identical to the movement pictured with the Regulator No.18 in the Seth Thomas catalogs. The movement is secured to an iron back plate, has Graham dead beat escapement and maintaining power. This is a well made 54 inch walnut case with a very eye pleasing finish. Pendulum bob is not correct and the stick was made to represent an original. 14 inch dial is painted on a new pan. The brass dial ring band inside the bezel is correct as are the hands, brass weight, brass beat scale, pulley, door lock, and knob.If you would replace the incorrect bob this would be a fine clock that most collectors would love to have. • Antique Seth Thomas “Regulator No. 2” Model Clock

    Antique Seth Thomas

Catalog Description: Seth Thomas “Regulator No. 2”, early model, ca 1878. This tablet was only used by Seth Thomas from 1878 to 1880, and seconds bit started in 1879, so that only leaves 1878 as the date this clock was made. For lack of other information I often use the date by the clock in the catalogs, but more times than not the catalog date is not the date when a clock was made, it is only the date it was pictured in the company’s trade booklet. These early Seth regulators were 34 inches high, walnut veneer cases, 8 day time only movement, large flat weight descending behind a sliding partition, full label on the partition. The clock runs real well, appears to be all original, a few chips of veneer missing on the rounded bezel, some gold paint loss but majority still intact. Has been rebacked to hold the remaining gold. Original paint on the old zinc dial is very good. Overall a near perfect example of a very early regulator. Ly-Seth Thomas No. 364.
