Catalog Description: C.1921, Seth Thomas Clock Co, “Chime Clock No. 14”, 8-day Sonora, quarter chime mantel clock, 5-bell. Condition: Refinished mahogany case in clean condition, a small ding near the top, a bit shiny, needs a rub with steel wool. Silvered dial has some tarnish. Hands are original. Both movements are original to the case and have been recently cleaned, and running. Chime movement is missing the strike/silent lever that is operated from the side of the case. Height 14 inches [35.56 cm]

Catalog Description: Seth Thomas, Sonora “Chime Clock No. 266”, ca 1909-1923. This is the rarest of the Sonora Chime clocks, 8 bells, chimes on the 8 deep resonated bells, each quarter hour, and chimes the number of hours each hour. The chime movement is No. 104 and it plays Whittington or Westminster. The 8-day time movement is No. 89. Both movements are clean and running strong. This very large mahogany case is 18 inches high, their highest-grade cabinet case, with shaded marqueterie designs on the front. The case was rubbed to a furniture finish. It has a convexbeveled glass, brass sash, and silvered dial. Ly-Seth Thomas, page 206-222.

This model came out in the 1920’s as a cheaper alternative to the Sonora units. It still has a very melodious sound and the original rods are intact. Condition – Refinished walnut and walnut veneered case is in generally good condition, with restoration, some open grain showing on the door. Columns and finials now gold painted. Tablet is a replacement. Original painted dial has been in-painted in the flaked areas and attempted repairs to some of the numbers and minute ring. Strike bell is a replacement. Height 16 inches

Catalog Description: Seth Thomas mantle clock, a miniature pillar and scroll case called the “Concord”, C. 1928. Big 8 day Seth Thomas movement with Geneva stops, strikes a cathedral gong on half hours and hours. Very nice painted dial with flowers in the corners. The mahogany case is 17″ high, repairs to one scroll ear, full turned columns and finials. Tablet is original but flaking. It is identical to those pictured in Ly-Seth Thomas, page 335. In good condition these are bring $500.

Catalog Description: Seth Thomas mantle clock, “Cottage Extra”, C. 1879. Near perfect walnut case is 14.5″, original tablet and all hardware. The only knock is a new dial pan and paper dial. 8 day, time, strike, and alarm. Strikes a coil gong, alarms on an iron bell. The movement still has the Geneva stops in place, nice label inside the case. Clean clock but movement could use a bath, although it is running. Ly-Seth Thomas #966.
