    Catalog Description: C.1925, Seth Thomas “Chime Clock No. 64-A ,”playing Sonora chime melody on 4 steel rods. Late in their Sonora production, Seth Thomas changed over to rods to compete with less expensive imports. This clock still has the sturdy separate chime movement no. 119, winding at 3 o’clock, and with a long shaft to carry the torque back to the rear movement. Moreover this particular clock has a premium dial with raised bronze numerals (some discoloration). Case retains original finish; runs and chimes nicely. Height 14” Reserve $250

    Catalog Description: Seth Thomas “Chime No. 94”, ca 1917. This clock has an 8 day movement that strikes the Westminster Chimes on the quarters. It uses the Seth Thomas movement No.124, and it is running. Full label, movement and case are very clean. Nice silver dial with raised bronze numerals. 2 tone mahogany case is 10 inches high, has inlaid marquetry. Ly-Seth Thomas, page 220 for similar chime clocks.

Condition: Refinished rosewood veneered case in generally good condition with small chips on the back edge of the cornice, some lifting on the right OG molding of the base, and right side door stretcher. Original dial has been poorly repainted. Hands are original. Movement is signed. Mirror is period, but lacks the cardboard backing. Nice label inside case. Height 16 inches [40.64 cm]

    Catalog Description: Seth Thomas City Clock, “Cordova”, ca 1909. 10.75 inches high case of dark mahogany, never cleaned. Some minor wood damage, easily correctable. There are plated metal caps and bases on the half columns and 3 other applied metal pieces on the front. The movement is 8 day, half hour cathedral gong strike. Signed round movement, outside count, correct pendulum, running. 4 inches cream porcelain dial has a chip at the hand arbor, and numerous hairlines extending out from the hand arbor. Beveled glass in the beaded sash. This clock books for over $500 if in very good condition.

The rosewood veneer is quite lively on this case, however, the base has had a 1 inch1 inches strip replaced right around the entire molding (nicely done, but obvious). The dial has been professionally refinished. Retains type 5 Thomaston label and old floral tablet, using type “J”, lyre shaped movement. Clean and running. Height 9″

    Catalog Description: Seth Thomas “Dixie”, ca around 1900. 8 day, time, strike, and alarm. Strikes hours on a coil gong, alarms on a brass bell, running. Same type of label you see on the “metal series”, “capital series”, and “college series”, clocks. I would guess they were all made in the 1900-1920 period. If you study (I did) the bronze trimmings used on the metal series, they are probably like the metal on this clock. The original dial is worn. Label inside the case, long label on the back, about two-thirds there. A couple of things stamped on the case at the factory, “M&L*”, and “21”. Oversize case is28 1/2 inches high, 17 1/2 inches wide. Clean oak case, all original. Ly-Seth Thomas No.1120. A better picture is in Ehrhardt, Book 2, page 142.
