Nicely refinished walnut case. Both dials have been repainted. Calendar hand and “Fashion” door glass both look replaced. Finials are well made copies.

Seth Thomas Clock Co., Thomaston, Conn., “Fashion No. 4”, 8 day, time and strike spring driven brass movement (with seconds bit) double dial calendar clock in a walnut case.
The walnut case has been refinished with a dark stain. The original painted time dial is in good condition with some flaking at 5 o’clock. The original painted calendar dial shows flaking between 8 and 9 and some darkening above the center arbor hole and above and below the patent date. The hour and minute hand are replacements. The seconds hand and the calendar hand are original. The finals are original. The movement is signed. The door glass and “Fashion” label appear to be original. The pendulum bob and short wooden rod are absent.

Southern Calendar Clock Co., St. Louis, MO, “Fashion No. 4” with 8 days, time and strike, spring driven Seth Thomas movement and perpetual calendar mechanism in a walnut case, c1880.
The clock retains its nice original finish. The dials have been professionally repainted. The calendar roller dials have darkened with age. The hands are original. The strike is on a bell. The movement is signed and there is a very nice interior label. Overall, this is a very nice example of this model. Ht 32 1/2″.
