  • Antique Seth Thomas “Regulator No. 2” Model Clock

    Antique Seth Thomas

Catalog Description: Seth Thomas “Regulator No. 2”, ca 1911, and so stamped on the back of the case. This 36.5 inches case was made with old oak, retains the original finish and has all 5 little buttons on the base. We have not had, or seen, a better No. 2 case. There is an excellent brass beat scale, has a good amount of the paper label in the bottom, super old dial with original paint, (any paint flakes are not worth mentioning, normally a Seth Thomas dial this old has been repainted at least once), and a near perfect brass weight and pendulum bob. The 8 day, time only movement is correct for this model, and is running properly. Ly-Seth Thomas, 2004 Edition, pages 276- 277, lists current value $2000-$2200.

  • Antique Seth Thomas “Regulator No. 2” Model Clock

    Antique Seth Thomas

Catalog Description: Seth Thomas hanging clock, “Regulator No. 2″, C. 1913. Cherry case 36.5″ high. According to available records ST did not made cherry cases after 1913, and the cases were 36.5″ after 1913, 34” before 1913. Some may call it refinished, I call it cleaned. It was a clock my wife used in the kitchen for a long time, until we played musical clocks recently. I kept it adjusted to within a minute a month. The 8 day movement is clean, running, signed. I can’t see any tracks of a recent dial painter, but the dial is too nice not to have been repainted. It hasn’t been off the case many times because the original tiny screws are still in the same tiny holes, very unusual. All the brass is original, weight, bob, beat scale, and hardware. After all the glowing remarks I must say the back of the case looks like it was drug down the street behind a tow truck. I guess that doesn’t hurt it but thankfully we don’t have to look at the back. • Antique Seth Thomas “Regulator No. 20, Variant” Model Clock

    Antique Seth Thomas

Catalog Description: C.1910, Seth Thomas, “Regulator No. 20- Variant” with unusual center seconds, with time dial below. Condition: The mahogany case has been attractively refinished. The dial was perhaps repainted long ago, or if it was for laboratory use, may be original; diameter of seconds ring 12″. Note in movement foto, this is the standard movement called for in the ST catalog. The entire bracket and movement are simply mounted 2 inches lower in the case, thus positioning the seconds hand at the center of the dial. There are NO extra holes on the original backboard, neither inside nor out, so this is definitely a factory special accommodation for a lab clock. Unable to tell if there was top trim; tapered bottom is original. Weight is tarnished; original pendulum and beat scale. Runs fine. Height as shown 56″
