  • Antique Seth Thomas “Sucile” Model Clock

    Antique Seth Thomas

Catalog Description: Seth Thomas mantle clock in an Adamantine finish, “Sucile”, ca 1909. Columns and sides finished in Onyx Adamantine, other parts of the wood case covered in rust adamantine. Etched front is gold filled. I have never seen that on an adamantine case. Gilt metal feet and ornaments. Gilt sash, bezel, and inner dial. 8 day, strikes half hours on a cathedral bell, running very well. Full label on the back. This is one of the nicest adamantine of this type I have seen to not be refinished. I would call it near perfect if not for a tiny chip on the front base. It has been stained and is actually no big deal. Ly-Seth Thomas No. 1180, and No. 1207. Same clock shown two places?

  • Antique Seth Thomas “Stellar” Model Clock

    Antique Seth Thomas

Catalog Description: C.1939, Seth Thomas, “Stellar”, in generally good original condition. This mahogany case has a few bumps and scrapes, and the latch for the bezel is not holding. We will be so brave as to quote only one sentence from the 1939 ST catalog: “With graceful sweeping contour and wavelike base molding, all enlivened with ship’s wheel spokes and sash in bright polished brass, the Stellar will inject a nautical tang into any furnishing scheme.” If that ad writer is still alive, we have a job for him! With pleasant 2-rod strike; movement is clean and running; inside label intact. Height 9.25″ $50-$75

  • Antique Seth Thomas “Standish” Model Clock

    Antique Seth Thomas

Catalog Description: C.1928, Seth Thomas Clock Co., “Standish”, 8-day automatic alarm clock in very good original condition. This is a cute little unrestored mahogany case, the same size as ST mini cottage cases, housing a round alarm clock movement with fixed rear wind. The case has some small dings and scratches incurred from use, but is still quite good with original finish. The dial is perfect with original hands, and glasses. An original label is on the bottom of the case and on the inside of the back door are instructions for operating the alarm. Note this clock will alarm at the same hour each morning if wound once a week, as it only alarms briefly rather than until it is unwound; the alarm duration is adjustable. Runs and alarms. Height 8.50″ $175-$225

  • Antique Seth Thomas “St. Paul, City Series” Model Clock

    Antique Seth Thomas

Catalog Description: Seth Thomas City Series clock called, “St. Paul”, ca 1886. This is one of the larger clocks in the series at 21 inches high. The case is polished walnut veneer. They used a special type of veneer on the door facing and the inset at top. Case now with a heavy bright finish, should be rubbed out or redone. The basic case is good; some of the attached things are not so good. The pendulum, although looking very nice and bright, is new and the bell is not correct. The signed and correct 8 day movement is running nicely, the 2 piece paper dial is signed and very old. Bubba has been tinkering with the dial and brass. I wouldn’t rule out the possibility that the dial and rings may have been adopted from another source. This model in nice condition will bring 800 dollars to 1000 dollars, this one needs some TLC, but you could definitely increase its value. Ly-Seth Thomas #226.
