The oak case retains original medium brown finish; interior label is excellent, dial with some flaking, maybe 3 percent. 8-day time only movement needs cleaning but is complete and sound; original suspension wire is loose in case. Very good interior label. This model was sold to many rural schools early in the 20th century. Height 23″ $250-350

Black iron case is 9.75″ high, has a signed brass back door, clock is complete. 8 day movement strikes a bell on half hours, and a gong on the hours, and the clock is running. Movement is signed, has a special pendulum. One piece porcelain dial, minor chips around the arbors. Not a common model. Ly-Seth Thomas #873.

    Catalog Description: Seth Thomas ships clock, “Eight Day Lever”, ca 1936. Brass case flanged front and back, hinged bezel, 5.25 inches silverplated dial. Fitted with 8 day, double wind movement, and it is running. Dial and case are clean, full paper label on the back, certainly readable, but wearing. Brass case is 6.25 inches wide.     Catalog Description: Seth Thomas crystal regulator, “Empire No. 13”, C. 1909. Another clock made with a rich gold finish that has all disappeared, now showing the copper undercoat. One piece porcelain dial with fine hairlines that would look much better if put thru an ultrasonic bath. Small chips around the hand arbor. A magnifying glass will show a couple of minute corner chips in the beveled glasses. Nice 2 vial imitation mercury pendulum, round, signed, 8 day movement is running, strikes half hours and hours on a hanging gong. The minimum reflects the fact you will need to spend a little to get the metal case back in good condition. Ly-Seth Thomas #278.

    Catalog Description: C.1909, Seth Thomas Clock Co., “Empire No. 40”, 8-day time/strike crystal regulator. The clock is in clean unrestored condition. One of the glass side panels and the lower edge of the front door panel have chips. The porcelain dial is perfect and the hands are original. The clock has an old two-vial mercury pendulum. Note this model uses the patent R. Kaiser round 15 day movement, that was America’s best effort to replicate the French movements so popular in crystal regulators. This clock is running and striking. Height 8.75 inches
