Catalog Description: C.1886, Seth Thomas “MARCY”wall clock in generally good original condition with some veneer repairs to the front door. The door suffered some veneer loss at the bottom that has been replaced and not stained the same medium gold color; other minor chips in door veneer. In addition, at some point someone tried washing off the exterior with some solvent that left some dark streaks in the original varnish. The interior of the case is quite clean and untouched, and retains original hardware throughout. This movement is illustrated in Ly’s 1996 Seth Thomas book, page 140, and is a large, 3-train, 8-day unit that strikes the quarters on 2 cupped bells, and the hours on a cathedral gong. The dial has been professionally restored over the original paint, with some touch up as well. The case has been waxed to a high sheen, and the movement is clean and running. Still looks good despite the shortcomings. Height 46”

Catalog Description: C.1909, Seth Thomas Gingerbread clock from the “Metals” series, see Tran Duy Ly’s 1996 Seth Thomas book, page 296, lower right for this model. This clock has been refinished and is a little dirty, however, retains original dial, pendulum and tablet. Old hands are from an Ingraham. Catalog Description: C.1902, Seth Thomas “NAPLES” clock in excellent condition. This clock has been in one small Massachusetts collection for the last 25 years. The oak case was professionally refinished and has a nice soft sheen. The movement has been cleaned and is running and striking fine. The catalog drawing of this clock does not do it justice, as the detail in the carving is fine. There are ever so minor imperfections on the base, but the clock is still overall excellent. Height 12″

Catalog Description: Seth Thomas College Series clock, “New York”, ca 1909. One of a set of 6. The catalogs say they were made in old oak only. Sorry, this one is a lovely walnut, 23 inches high, with the original glass and pendulum. As with all the clocks in this nice collection, the owner liked new, white, paper dials. A label inside and another on the back. 8 day striking half hours on a gong and alarms on a brass bell, running strong. Very nice clock. Ly-Seth Thomas No.1103.

Catalog Description: “No. 55”, ca 1915. 4 bell Sonora Chimes in one of their smallest cases, only 10.5 inches wide and 9.5 inches high. An unusual amount of mechanical apparatus squeezed inside. Mahogany cabinet case has just enough woodwork to be very attractive. The silver dial with painted numerals is very nice. Usually dials of this type tend to be worn pretty badly. Beveled and bowed glass in the brass sash. The 8 day signed Seth Thomas movement is marked “89AE”, the chime movement is marked “90”. It is running and chiming but service is recommended. For whatever reason Sonora Bell Chime clocks are now in great demand. Seth Thomas No. 719.

Catalog Description: Seth Thomas & Sons metal clock, No. 8030. Case is 14 1/2 inches high and most probably was repainted at some time in a dull bronze color. It has a French type movement, round, bell strike, outside count wheel, and signed by Seth Thomas. The porcelain dial is not the quality of the French dials as they were easily chipped around the winding arbors, although the chipping is very minor. Seth did use very heavy beveled glasses and fancy dial rings and bezels. The pendulum is correct and the clock is running strong. Clock’s complete and original. Ly-American No.866.

Catalog Description: C.1892, Seth Thomas “Office Calendar No. 11”, in mahogany, 1- weight, 8-day movement with maintaining power. Condition: Excellent condition, original, EXCEPT for replacement top, which has been carefully copied from an original by a good cabinetmaker. Other minor nicks and scrapes to the case, commensurate with age. Retains fancy nickeled pendulum with damascene pattern; beat scale intact. We are aware of a recent sale for 32,500 dollars, also with a restored/replaced top, and Ly lists this in his latest price guide at 27,500 dollars. Height 68.5 inches
