The “Old Oak” case is about 20 inches long, and generally in good condition with only minor nicks expected on a clock this old. Everything is original and in good working order.A regular manicure might have prevented Bubba from scratching the dial between the 1 and 2. This model was made in several case and dial sizes, this one with a 9 inches dial. 8 day, time only movement, is running properly. Ly-Seth Thomas, vol. 3, No. 1143.

Catalog Description: C.1885, Seth Thomas, Parlor Calendar No. 5, in walnut, 8-day, time and strike, double dial perpetual calendar. Condition: the case has been nicely refinished and the movements professionally cleaned. The time dial has had some touch up of the numerals in the 5 t0 8 area and could be improved. Catalog Description: C.1875, Seth Thomas Clock Co., Thomaston, Conn., 8-day time/strike rosewood shelf clock. This is a clean example of the Chicago model, with gilt columns and brass trim. The are some dings on one side and the bottom molding. The original dial is in great condition for a Seth Thomas, minor loss by winding holes, but no flaking. The new tablet is a paper print of roses, glued to glass, and then sprayed white from behind. The upper glass is original. Inside label with wear but fully legible. Recently cleaned and running. Height 173/4″

Catalog Description: C.1910 Seth Thomas Clock Co., “Chime Clock No. 1 Special”, 8-day Westminster chime on 4-bells “Sonora chime” mantel clock. Condition: Adamantine case is almost perfect with a small chip on the front bottom edge and some roughness on the back edge of one side. The porcelain dial is perfect and the hands are original. Clock ticks, strikes and chimes, but would benefit from cleaning. Height 13.5 inches

Catalog Description: Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Chime Clock No. 2”, ca 1922. Plays Westminster Chimes on 4 patented Sonora resonated bells. Sonora Chime movement ismarked, “90D”, and the 8 day Seth Thomas running movement is marked, “89 O”.Full label on the backboard. The 14-1/2 inch high case is covered withred mahogany adamantine that is in very nice condition, only a few edge-corner nicks. 4 brass feet, brass bezel and sash, heavy beveled glass over the silver dial. 6 inch dial has a few pot marks, but is much better than most of the silver dials of this type that we see. Black numerals are painted on the surface, not etched. Signed by Seth Thomas two places on the dial. Slow-Fast adjusterjust below the hand arbor, all 3 winding arbors in the dial, chime-silent lever on the right side. This one is much better than the average 4-5 bell Sonora’s we see. Catalog Description: Seth Thomas, Sonora 8 Bell, “Chime Clock No. 266”, offered by Seth Thomas from 1909 through 1923. 18 inch mahogany highest grade cabinet case, made of the highest grade material, has shaded marqueterie designs. The woodhas been rubbed out to give a suitable look for home or business. Convex beveled glass, brass sash, silvered dial. 8 day movement No. 89, Sonora Chime movement No. 104, plays Whittington and Westminster chimes on quarter hours on the 8 deep toned bells. The movements are clean and in good running order. Collectors have acquired the 8 bell clocks as fast as they become available. Rarely are they offered for sale to the general public. Catalog Description: C.1921, Seth Thomas, Chime Clock No. 75, 8-Day Westminster Chime tambour clock in mahogany. Condition: the silvered brass dial is oxidized in a few places, mostly from winding and setting the hands. At some time the brass leader for the original pendulum got lost and a workman made one out of a steel rod and paper clip. You can see the original pattern in Tran Duy Ly’s Seth Thomas book, 3rd edition, page 170, fig 453, and it is relatively east to make one out of rolled sheet brass. Chime rods sound nice in this clock. Height 9.75 inches

Catalog Description: C.1875, Seth Thomas Clock Co., “Cincinnati”, 8-day time/strike rosewood and mahogany veneer shelf clock in generally good condition with an original finish (early version). This was one of the city series offered by Seth Thomas. The only veneer damage is on the base where some small pieces are missing. The ebonized areas of the case will need some touchup to hide scraps and dings. The original painted dial is very nice with some minor loss around the mounting screws and one small chip on the side. The tablet and hands are original. Both finials have lost their tips and been filed smooth. The label inside is very clean. Height 14 inches
