4 bell Sonora chime mantel clock, in generally good condition. The adamantine mahogany finish is in pretty nice condition, however, there is a tiny chip on the upper right corner and a little damage and some splits in the front panel, above the dial.. This model which usually came with a silvered dial has the optional porcelain dial, with small chips by each winding arbor (only apparent on close inspection). The hands are original. The clock retains its original brass ball feet. The original brass gilt columns have been brushed over with gold paint. In running order and with excellent tone (chimes Westminster tune). Height 12 1/2″

It looks like someone has shellacked the mahogany veneered case in the distant past and it needs to be rubbed down. There is a little roughness on the base and a little chip along the back edge. The original dial has a little paint loss around the mounting screws. The door glass is original. The hands are improper (replacements are available from Timesavers). The large 8-day movement with Geneva stops is properly signed. Retains a very good label. A pleasant model that is hard to find in good condition: this has potential. Height 15.25Ó $175-$275

Condition: Polished brass case has some distress, with a little damage on the rim near the hinge and a little dimpling on the back area of the bottom. The bracket that holds the bell is also bent. Original silvered dial is fairly clean with some silvering rubbed off. Hands are original. Bottom tab that stabilizes clock on wall is missing. Label on rear with loss, scratches and tears, also holes indicating clock was screwed to wall at some point. Would be $800 if perfect. Ht. 10.5″

Condition: Nickel plated case is in very nice condition with some tarnishing. The dial is very nice for its age. Hands are original. There is an extra nice label on the back. The bezel is engraved on its edge: “RIYC Mid-Summer Series 1913, Class E won by Gilt Edge.”. The RIYC stands for the Edgewood Yacht Club – 1889 in Cranston, RI (Narragansett Bay). Jul 2020 – 119 Antique American Clocks Seth Thomas “Atlanta”, 1908. A city series clock, 19.5 inches tall in walnut veneer with rosewood veneer around the front, further highlighted with gilt designs. The door glass is old with a gold stencil, the dial in a brass relief bezel is old paper with the ST name. It shows a lot of wear. The ST 8-day, time-and-strike movement is running and striking the hours and half-hours on a cathedral gong. The pendulum bob is ST issue but shows lots of wear. is an ST label inside on the bottom, and the date is stamped on the back of the case. This is an attractive clock.

Condition: Don Vernon bought this from Don Myers a couple of years ago, and Meyer’s son, Marshall had really rubbed the case out nicely..it looks like it just came from the factory. Mahogany case, 4 inches high, 9 inches long, signed porcelain dial has some slight damage at 5 oÕclock and a few faint hairlines. Beveled glass also suffered from the accident as it has a tiny flake in the beveled edge that is hard to detect. There is a Seth Thomas label on the base.Trying to run but is struggling. This one is about as good as they get, with one little exception. It is so nice you would think it had been refinished, yet you look close and the old crazing is there. It had to have resided in a house where no one smoked and they didn’t burn coal. Walnut case is 22.5″ high, no problems anywhere, full black label, factory stamp on the back -1887, perfect original glass, brass Seth Thomas pendulum that is correct for the City Series clocks. 8 day, striking hours on a Cathedral gong, and running up a storm. The exception – there is a new paper dial on the old zinc pan. What a shame. Whoever buys this nice, almost mint clock, please have the dial painted. Ly-Seth Thomas, #176.
