  • Antique Seth Thomas “Double Dial” Model Clock

    Antique Seth Thomas

Catalog Description: Seth Thomas, “Double Dial” – Wall Bracket, C. 1922. Made principally for use in the nation’s schools, time is shown in two directions. Overall, including the wall bracket the clock is 30″, the clock case itself is only 19″ square. This clock is original and complete. It has a 30 day, time only, large double spring Movement No. 86, and it running just fine. You might know that I would photograph the best side. The dial showing is very nice while the one not showing has oxidized slightly around the lower half on the outside of the time ring, and that means there is a little flaking. The numerals are still fine. The old oak case is in good condition and should not require a lot of the buyer’s time. The glasses should be stabilized a little better but otherwise it is ready to hang. Ly-Seth Thomas #526.

  • Antique Seth Thomas “Drop Octagon, 10 Inch” Model Clock

    Antique Seth Thomas

Catalog Description: Seth Thomas “10 Inch Drop Octagon Gilt”, ca 1898, and so stamped on the back of the case. Made of mahogany veneer, polished and with gilt lines around top and base, now hardly visible at all. You can see an outline where gilt used to be but years of handling and cleaning has obliterated most. Case is 21.5 inches high, very clean and still polished, top glass replaced, bottom original, full label, original pendulum, dial, and hands. Factory stamp on the back indicates the clock was made Jan. 1898. You will note the name printed on the dial, “T.W. Potter, Kensington”, which I suppose is England. All black on the dial has been highlighted; I would bet was done by Mr. Potter. 8 day timepiece, running well. Ly-Seth Thomas #506.

  • Antique Seth Thomas “Eclipse” Model Clock

    Antique Seth Thomas

Catalog Description: Eight-day solid Walnut Seth Thomas “Eclipse” shelf clock The Seth Thomas Clock Company varied the pattern on their “Eclipse” door glasses and also on a few other minor details such as the door ‘catch’. On this clock, the door is released with a push-button as compared to the hook and eye on the other “Eclipse’ in our current stock. This clock has a wonderful solid Walnut case in near “Mint” condition. The gold door glass pattern is original and the movement runs and strikes properly. There is a working alarm mechanism which although rarely used by owners because they run continuously until completely wound down when set, adds to the value of the clock. Height: 24 in. (60.96 cm) Depth: 5 in. (12.70 cm) Width: 15 in. (38.10 cm) Weight: 4

    Antique Seth Thomas

No evidence it has been refinished. 4 great beveled glasses. 8 day movement strikes the gong on half hours. Runs, but a little out of beat. One piece porcelain dial, hand decorated with garland of flowers, one hairline and it would disappear with a cleaning. Correct hands, machined dial ring.
