Catalog Description: C.1885, Seth Thomas “REGULATOR No. 1″ in nice restored condition. This clock has the large cut pinion movement, 41/4 X 51/4” plates and maintaining power. The veneer has some bubbles on the sides of the bottom and some minor repairs, but is overall attractive and nicely refinished. The dial was professionally repainted some time ago and with some age. The best pat of this clock is the original presentation tablet: “PRESENTED TO A. L. NICKERSON, BY FRIENDS, 1885” Also with nickel plated pendulum bob with damascene pattern. The hook for the weight got damaged, however a proper replacement is available from Timesavers.com, catalog No. 12183, for $2.75. Height 34 inches

Catalog Description: C.1935, Seth Thomas Clock Co., Thomaston, Conn, “REGULATOR No. 2” , in mahogany, 1-weight, 8-day. Condition: overall excellent original condition with good label, dial, hands and weight. The only things that keeps this from being outstanding are some small dings in the pendulum and minor exterior abrasions on the case. Ht 35.5 [90cm]

Catalog Description: C.1890, Seth Thomas Regulator No. 2 in poor to fair, as-found condition, with advertising dial. The oak case lost its lower door and now has a replacement from Merritts. The bob was lost from the pendulum and a smaller one has been substituted, also seconds hand missing (replacements for both items are available from Timesavers). The weight was lost and this is a very good home-made substitute that runs the clock just fine. The original dial has wear and flaking and the numerals have been dressed up with black crayon. A professional could save this dial and strengthen the original ad which reads: Greenleaf and Crosby Co, Jewelers, 25 E. Bay St., Jacksonville, also at St. Augustine and Palm Beach. Lots of potential here. Height 35″

Catalog Description: C.1900, Seth Thomas, “Regulator No. 2” in oak and in very good original condition, and if not for the flaking on the original dial near 12, would be in excellent condition. Note that portion of the dial had some coffee or something light tan spilled on it. Has a nice label inside, on the base of the clock. Has a 1911 clean/regulate date. The weight and pendulum are original; very minor scratches in the pendulum. Original finish has lovely, slightly crazed patina (what most of us like to see), and both glasses original. Overall a nice example of this model. Height 35 inches

Nicely refinished case with quarter sawn oak veneer in great condition. Original hands, pendulum and weight. Pendulum bob has a small crease. Label in bottom of case is a photocopy of an original. Catalog Description: Seth Thomas “Regulator No. 2″, C. early 1900’s, between 1913-1922. Mahogany case is, or should be, 36.5” high. Note the very bottom trim piece is missing and a new design was proudly added by an aspiring craftsman. Thank goodness it isn’t securely attached. When I first saw this clock I thought it was pretty sorry, but after closer inspection I see a $1500-$2000 clock with proper attention. The original dial is great. Usually they have been repainted, or should be, by this time. The signed 8 day, weight movement, looks like it has never been out of the case, dirty, needs to be restrung. The mahogany is almost perfect, just very dead looking. Some good polish would completely change it. The weight and pendulum are also very nice. There is no black label in the base but I will give you one if you insist on having one. Ly-Seth Thomas #362.

Catalog Description: Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Regulator No. 2”, ca 1909. Repair dates marked on the case and dial back to 1919. Everything about the clock is original and is generally in very good condition. Old “NCR-3460” New York Central Railroaddial, has the normal wear for Seth Thomas dials of this age, most of theold label remains in the base, good glasses, brass movement, bezel, pendulum, are all in untouched condition. The mahogany case has been refinished, now a much lighter shade. They put a coat of shellac or similar finish onthe wood which gives it a shine. I checked the movement and it is correctand like the movement in Ly-Seth Thomas No. 368, and the clock is identicalto No. 362. Old mahogany veneer case is 34 inches long, perhaps a chip or two, nothing worth writing about, movement secured to an iron bracket, 8 day timeonly, 80 beats to the minute, and running very good.

Catalog Description: C.1909, Seth Thomas Clock Co., “Regulator No. 20”, 8-day weight driven timepiece in cherry and in very good condition. The cherry case has a couple of nicks and scrapes but is quite nice; flats have been wire wooled and varnished; grooves and moldings retain original finish (looks fine). The original dial has a dozen or so small flakes, but is in remarkably good condition for Seth Thomas. The counter balanced hands, pendulum and weight are original; pend with some dings along the circumferance. Both glasses are old. The movement is a dead-beat escapement with maintaining power. For reference, see Ly’s Seth Thomas book, page 136, fig 447 for the clock, and movement fig 449. Large and impressive; has been in storage; movement sound, could use some oiling before operation. Height 62 inches

Catalog Description: C.1920, Seth Thomas “Regulator No. 3” in oak and good condition, except as noted. This is very likely a railway contract model, as it appears that the little “ears” below 4 and 8 have been added and the finials have not been turned to the proper profile. I guess someone along the way wanted it to look like an early No.1 extra, so they added a screened “Regulator” tablet in lieu of the clear glass this model calls for. Uses large No.62 movement with 72 beats, cut pinions and maintaining power. The veneer on the rear of the back has lifted in some areas… is fine on front of the back; also a center split in the back. The oak veneer is overall in nice condition. The dial has been refinished by the Dial House. Has original label inside case bottom. Height 44″
