Condition: Refinished oak in generally fair to good condition, the stripper loosened some of the veneer, now glued back down (these late models are not solid hardwood). Original paper dial has some staining. Hands and pendulum are original. Original tablet is very nice with some minor flaking and scratches. Movement is signed. This clock is the same as the Yale model, but with decorative tablet; an uncommon model. Height 23.5 inches [59.6 cm]

Seth Thomas Sonora “Chime Clock No. 11”, C. 1915, 5 bells.

Mahogany fine figured pattern (per catalogs) and stands just a tad under 14″. The bells play Westminster Chimes every 15 minutes, or can be silenced at your discretion. This is a very good looking wood case except for a scratch on the left side (doctored with mahogany stain, not bad, could be disguised a little better) that hardly detracts but keeps the case from being perfect. Silver dial is 6″, has etched numerals, 3 winding arbors and the slow-fast arbor, shows wear which is normal on these silver dials. Bowed glass over the dial. Silencing lever on the right side. Sonora movement No. 90B, and 8 day movement No. 89AG, pendulum and key included. The clock is running, but should be serviced. The full back door has a brass cutout curtain covered with cloth, to allow the resonated bell sounds to escape the case. Ly-Seth Thomas, pages 206-221.

Seth Thomas, “Double Dial” – Wall Bracket, C. 1922.

Made principally for use in the nation’s schools, time is shown in two directions. Overall, including the wall bracket the clock is 30″, the clock case itself is only 19″ square. This clock is original and complete. It has a 30 day, time only, large double spring Movement No. 86, and it running just fine. You might know that I would photograph the best side. The dial showing is very nice while the one not showing has oxidized slightly around the lower half on the outside of the time ring, and that means there is a little flaking. The numerals are still fine. The old oak case is in good condition and should not require a lot of the buyer’s time. The glasses should be stabilized a little better but otherwise it is ready to hang. Ly-Seth Thomas #526.

This clock stood out on an open porch and has gotten wet and the joints are all a bit loose. The dials both bear the name of the company that ordered the clock from ST: Lockwood & Almquist, Inc, New York. The pendulum has lost its brass cover, but the lead insert is intact. The movement itself appears complete, but will need service. This clock displays the same time in both directions, using large double spring movement #86, and was commonly used in the New York Public School System. Height 30 inches

An unusual crystal regulator with a high book value. This one will not bring top dollar for the “rich gold finish” is gone. A tenderfoot cleaned the gilt off leaving the copper base. The brass sections, not many of them, are fine. A great looking clock but it needs a good finish. The case is 15.5″ high, complete and very good except for the finish. Four beveled glasses, two very good, one with a miniscule corner tic, one with a good size corner chip. Good size being about 1/2″ by 1/8″. Signed 8 day movement, hanging Cathedral gong, imitation mercury pendulum (it is now copper color, I guess to match the case), and a winding key. Perfect porcelain dial and hands, dial is signed, painted loops of flowers. Ly-Seth Thomas No. 742.

Condition: Cast metal case in nice condition with remains of some of the original gold finish under an old layer of gold paint. Back door beveled glass panel has a chip in one corner. The other three panels are fine. Original porcelain dial has fancy polychrome decorations, and is perfect. The hands are original. Movement is properly signed. Ht 15.5″ [39.3 cm]

in very good condition, with embossed bronze band around the top and bottom (slightly different from earlier no. 5 with bronze applique). The gilding is rubbed off in several spots, but is still reasonably bright. Heavy beveled glass is all excellent, and porcelain dial with poly-chrome wreath décor is perfect. 8-Day movement carries S-T trademark and strikes on a cathedral gong. Height 14″ Reserve $450

Seth Thomas Clock Co. crystal regulator, “Empire No. 5”, ca 1907.

Some of the company’s description of this case was, “bronze top and base, raised gold ornaments, gold urn and body”. The top and base are tarnished/discolored. I believe it will polish up nicely if you will spend some time. The “raised gold ornaments” look great, they are not discolored, same with the urn and feet. There are four perfect beveled glasses, a little grimy around the edges of the glass for I doubt they have ever been cleaned. Excellent imitation mercury pendulum and a correct two prong key. Perfect one piece porcelain dial is signed, and the hands are correct. 8 day round movement is also signed, clean and running, and striking half hours on a hanging gong. It could be a near perfect clock after some cleaning. We seldom see a ST crystal regulator this nice. Ly-Seth Thomas No. 719.
