  • Antique Seth Thomas “Regulator No. 2” Model Clock

    Antique Seth Thomas

Catalog Description: Round top, solid Oak weight-powered wall clock. The demand for Seth Thomas No. 2 wall regulators has been dramatically growing year after year. These fine clocks were used in railroad stations, banks; hotel lobbies and business offices for decades due to their very excellent timekeeping and handsome, solid appearance. They were made in a variety of woods…some veneered and some in solid Oak like this one. The top wooden bezel was made in eight sections which over the years often shrank a bit allowing a slight separation between each section. This one is no exception. The sections are solid however with only minor lines between each segment (see photograph). The brass movement has been polished, cleaned, serviced and oiled for proper operation. Prices for these fine clocks have been increasing rapidy…so this one…at only $1950 represents a bargain in anyone’s language!! Shipping is available throughout the Continental United States. Height: 37 in. (93.98 cm) Depth: 6 in. (15.24 cm) Width: 16 in. (40.64 cm) Weight: 15

  • Antique Seth Thomas “Regulator No. 2” Model Clock

    Antique Seth Thomas

Catalog Description: C.1947 (dated), Seth Thomas, Regulator No. 2 in oak and in very good original condition. This clock is among the last of the No.2s produced (1950 was the last year), and is complete with original dated label on the rear, showing manufacture by ST division of General Time Corp. Note production shortcuts at this time have the bezel made in 4 sections instead of 8. This one warped a bit and has been re-glued and screwed from the rear to stabilize it (decent job). The quarter sawn oak is especially attractive, and the movement has been re-cabled and is running well. Minor wear to numerals on original dial. Note, post war models like this have a spring/bullet latch for the door in lieu of a key lock. Height 35 1/2″

Minor shortcoming is that the hook broke off the weight (available from Timesavers no. 12183 for only $2.25), now replaced with a piece of wire. The original dial has very minor rub spots and flakes. This clock would have been made just before WWII. Some minor work will render this a $1200 clock. Height 35″ $700-900
